RNLI Life Jacket Lockers installed on the Dart yacht club pontoon

The first set of lifejacket lockers provided by the RNLI have been installed on the Dart Yacht Club Pontoon.  These are for the use of those who come ashore using tenders, dinghies and other personal watercraft.  The Lockers can be operated with a £1.00 coin which is refunded when the locker is opened.  We are hoping that extra lockers will be positioned on the embankment off double steps in time for next season.

Dart Harbour and the RNLI want to do all that they can to encourage the wearing of life jackets.  There has been a small increase in use 2018; 62% of boaters reported wearing a personal flotation device (PFD)  which has increased from 57% in 2017 ( Source RNLI annual report)
