LNTM 17-2022 Dartmouth Royal Regatta
Effective until 29th August 2022
Overview. The Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta will take place from Saturday 20th August to Sunday 28th August 2022. During this period river users not involved in the Regatta are requested to keep clear of the organised waterborne events and exercise particular caution when underway in the River Dart.
Mariners are to be aware that the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea will apply at all times, to all vessels – Particular attention to rules:
- Rule 5 (Look-out)
- Rule 6 (Safe Speed). The speed limit within the Harbour limits remains 6 knots and no wash.
- Rule 9(a) (Narrow Channels)
- Section II Conduct of Vessels in sight of one another.
- Section III Conduct of Vessels in restricted visibility – Especially Part C Lights and Shapes.

Exclusion Zones
For the safety of participants and river users the following events will have an exclusion area around the event, these exclusion zones will be announced on VHF CH11 and patrolled be Dart Harbour Staff.
Fireworks: 75m around this barge. Town Jetty and Yacht Club Pontoon will be closed, with no transit access to the public between 20:50 and 21:30 on Saturday 27th August 2022. Occupants of vessels on these Pontoons are to remain clear of them or to remain on board their vessels, and obey any directions by harbour staff or other agencies. Disclaimer. Mariners using Dart Harbour facilities in the vicinity of firework displays do so at entirely their own risk. Dart Harbour accepts no responsibility for damage or injury caused to persons, vessels or property as a result of firework displays.
Flyboarding: An area between Yacht Club and Town Jetty Pontoons.
RNLI Display: An area between Yacht Club and upriver of the Town Jetty Pontoons. The RNLI will be operating multiple vessels at high speed during this demonstration and river users are requested to keep well clear.

Safety.
Each event is supported by dedicated safety craft (normally marked with a yellow “Q” flag). Harbour Staff will be afloat in vessels marked ‘Harbour Patrol’ and are available to assist if required on VHF Ch. 11, call sign “DARTNAV”.
Visiting Vessels.
Visiting vessels will be allocated berths on a first come first served basis, Please call “DARTNAV” on VHF CH 11 upon arrival.
