LNTM 19-24 – Vessels to display the correct lights.

All mariners are advised:

As per the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (COLREGs Rule 20) and the Merchant Shipping Act, all vessels within the harbour must display the appropriate lights during the hours of darkness.

With increased traffic in the harbour during the Regatta period, it is crucial that every vessel (including dinghies and tenders) is properly lit to ensure the safety of all users. Please ensure your vessel is compliant and visible to others. Masters that do not comply, are likely to have their vessel detained, or face prosecution.

Your cooperation is essential for a safety of all and incident-free environment.

Issued 29th August 2024

J Handley – Assistant Harbour Master.
